The hair cair routine you need this summer

The hair cair routine you need this summer

Does anyone else find that in the summer/warmer months their hair gets all frizzy and dry? Mine defiantly does. It’s such a pain.

Much like my skin-care routine, I’ve never put much thought or effort into creating a proper hair-care routine.

I used to wash it every day or at least every other day as getting seriously sweaty at the gym meant my hair would get so greasy. However, since having Arthur, I swear I use this phrase waaaay to often but it’s true. Anyway since Arthur’s been born every “routine” I have ever had has just been thrown out the window. Now that the early baby phase is slowly fading I thought, “it’s time to restore my hair and become Hot Mumma Holly”.

Don’t we all feel like we can take on the world with fabulous looking hair?

I know I do. Since the warmer weather hit, I’ve been looking for something to tame my frizz. It just so happens, thank you universe, the Noughty haircare company wanted to send me some of their frizz taming products.

They were so helpful when I told them what hair type I had and the condition it was in. They suggested I tired their To The Rescue range, which sounded amazing, how could I pass up the offer of “rescuing” my hair.

There were a few things that attracted me to the Noughty Haircare company but mainly because it is 97% natural. I’ve been looking to use more natural products as the years go by as I feel they are far more gentle on my skin and hair.

Going natural

Most shampoo and conditioners contain silicones, so going natural your hair will want to go through a detox process. With Noughty, they suggest you give it at least  8 washes before seeing a true result. So this is what I did.

If you’re using products that contain silicones at the moment you may notice that your hair goes through a detox process for the first 8 washes and it may look a little dull and flyaway.

My top tips for reducing this detox process

  1. Make sure your hair is really really wet.
  2. Always work the shampoo in your hands first before applying to your hair
  3. Rinse with slightly cold water, or luke-warm
  4. Towel dry your hair well before applying the leave-in conditioner.
  5. To get the best results from the “intense moisture treatment” leave it in for 20-30 mins whilst having a warm bath.

These are all ways I stopped my hair from looking extra greasy and dull. Follow these steps and after 8 washes you’ll defiantly be looking your most fabulous self.

How I found my hair after using Noughty’s  “To The Rescue” range

I’ve been using the “To The Rescue” shampoo and leave in conditioner for about 6 weeks now and the results have been amazing. I have really noticed the difference between them and my normal shampoo and conditioner.

For starters, my hair just smells incredible! The particular range of shampoo and conditioner I’m using contains Shea butter and Argan Oil which I think smell very similar to Almonds.  The Shae butter brings a silky and moisturising power to the conditioning of your hair and the Argan oil is rich in fatty acids which is what you need to tame that frizz. The Argan oil help increase your hair’s natural elasticity and fight that frizz

My hair no longer has that untamable frizz straight after I blow dry it. Usually, my hair would be left with loads of flyaway hair’s, the frizz basically. Since using the shampoo and conditioner I have seen such a difference in the amount of frizz I have and even on the most humid of days my hair seems to stay silky smooth. They’ve totally changed my hair-care routine.

I hope you enjoyed this little review and I’d love for you to go and share the love over on my Instagram, where I did a little tutorial on the products.

Much Love

love the photos! I really could so with some extra moisture in my hair. I tried the blonde-specific products from Noughty and got on well with them. It’s great to use products which don’t contain any silicones or other unwanted ingredients I think. I’m all for that! I’ll have to check these out.
