I haven’t done a fashion post in ages but after having a little think about what direction I want my blog to move in, I’m back!
Get ready to see more of these types of posts as I have absolutely loved writing them, shooting them and getting creative with my style.
After taking a leaf out Tabby, from TakeHeart, book I am keen to be more adventurous and daring with my wardrobe over the next year.
So, here it is. Trends I’m loving this spring/summer. If I remember correctly it was this time last year that I did a similar post, “my favourite looks this spring”. It’s always around the spring summer time when I give my wardrobe an update, this year being no different.
Slogan Tees are something I live for at the moment. Being a new mum, breastfeeding and generally being pretty busy most days, comfort is on the top of my list when it comes to switching up my wardrobe this summer.
I love that I can speak my mind with a few words on a T-shirt. The comfort of just chucking on a T-shirt and jeans, trousers or a skirt is just super desirable for a new mum.
They also make me feel incredibly sassy and who doesn’t love that feeling?!
Both the slogan tee and skirt are from Romwe, you can shop my look here.
This year it’s all about the pinstripe, its been creeping its way into my wardrobe for a while but I still can’t get enough of it. I love how easy it is to pair with accessories or slogan tee and is generally a really easy pattern to dress.
It’s classic and chic, so when I feel like I’ve spent far too much time in my Pj’s chucking on my pinstripe collets and a slogan Tee is makes me feel so much better.
I’ve seen the pinstripe being paired with other patterns, like the clueless 90’s check. Clueless has always been one of my all-time favourite films, mainly because of the incredible wardrobe. Whenever I watch it I long to be on the set so I can dive into Cher’s wardrobe. Mixing patterns is something I defiantly want to experiment with this year, but will I be daring enough? Can I pull it off?
Well, you only have to take one look on my Instagram to see that I have fallen for all the pastels this season. Especially pink, grey and blue.
I’ve always been a girly girl. So pink has always made an appearance in my wardrobe, however never so heavily as this summer. This is just one of three dusters I purchased when I was pregnant with Arthur. They were the staple of my pregnancy wardrobe, covering up those lumps and bumps. I couldn’t live without them… Ok, that’s a tad dramatic but you get my point. I bet you don’t believe me when I tell you they only cost me £7 each from eBay. Don’t believe me, go grab your own, here.
I’ve got my eye on a few lavender and pastel yellow items, but y’know having a new little man in my life the purse strings are a bit tight. Watch this space though, I’m all about saving and treating myself.
What summer trends are you loving this year? Are you going to be brave and explore new outfits, patterns and colours this sumer?
