NYX tried and tested

The whole “haul” thing is new to me but I have to admit I LOVE IT! Come on, who doesn’t love spoiling themselves on more then one item of makeup and beauty products? Spoiling myself is exactly what I need at the moment, a little bit of TLC can do you the world of good when you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, or any time you’re feeling in need.

I needed a pick me up. I needed inspiration for my new beauty section. I needed, ok maybe wanted is more appropriate, new make up. So I hopped onto Feelunique and purchased a few NYX products, because y’know I’m a product queen! I had already fallen in love with their matte effect lip glosses so I was intrigued to try their face range, is that the right term to use? As much as I love experimenting with lipsticks and eyeshadows, for a while now I’ve been looking for products that will hold my foundation in place, make me look airbrushed (pssshhhttt like this will EVER happen) and generally stop my make up from drowning with the day. I can safely say that a good three out of four of these products I LOVE! So let me share with you my findings… Ooo it’s like a little science experiment.

NYX finishing powder

I haven’t used powder in years! I used to use it instead of foundation when I went on holiday… well I haven’t been on holiday in what feels like forever so that could be why. Maybe me loving this powder is a sign that I need to book a holiday, ooo maybe Greece, Croatia?! Ok I’m digressing sorry, focus Hols. Even though this isn’t really a powder I would use on its own, it defiantly is an amazing finishing powder. I feel like it takes away any shine that my forehead might want to beem out as if it was calling for friends from another planet and it covers any of those nasty imperfections. All round I think this bad boy is definitely¬†a product you can’t leave you house with out.

NYX Matte finish spray

I have been searching for something to hold my face in place for the whole day for YEARS. Literally years! So finally I have got my butt into gear and started to ask around and try some out. I had heard good things about this NYX finishing spray and thought seeing as I was doing a little NYX haul this just had to be one of the purchases. Despite the good things I have heard, I was actually a little disappointed by this product. I know, I hate doing bad reviews or not even a bad review but I have to be honest, this didn’t excite me. I didn’t really notice a massive change to my skin and my make didn’t last any longer then it usually would. So for me, it didn’t work.

NYX Pore Filler

Moving on to bigger (well actually most defiantly not bigger) but most certainly better things, this beauty is my new found love. I fell in love with the Benefit poor minimize by Benefit years ago but when I ran out the price tag scared me off when it came to buying another tube, I felt lost with out it and thought I would just have to suffer with large pores all mylife, get the violins out, until I came across this stunner! I couldn’t believe for half the price of Benefits POREfessional it makes my skin feel super soft and stops my foundation from sinking into my pores. If I was asked to describe this product in one cheesie, yet clever and hilarious (because thats just me), word it would be PORE-FECT!

NYX eyeshadow primer

Say hello to the tiniest, yet powerful, little pot I think I’ve ever come across. This little beast is pretty darn amazeballs. I love eyeshadow. I love playing around with different looks but more often then not by the time 3pm hits most of my eyeshadow has settled in the crease of my eyelid, oh I do paint a pretty picture of myself don’t I. I needed a good primer to hold my eyeshadow in place for more then a couple of hours, so I thought I would give it a go and I’m so glad I did because this little pot has served me well. After a whole day my eyeshadow was still looking fresh by the time I had finished work. How lush!

Ta-ra for now
